Social interactions at snack times form a key part of your child’s Personal, Social and Emotional Development and it is important for them to be able to participate in this group activity on equal terms. The nursery provides water to drink, this is available throughout the day. Lunch TimeIf your child is attending an afternoon session from 12.00 - 3.00, they will need a packed lunch. Please hand your child’s lunch box to the member of staff at the classroom door on arrival. It will then be stored in the fridge until lunchtime. Food should be packed in a clearly named container that your child can easily open. Unfortunately novelty lunch boxes are normally bulky and as we have a limited fridge space it is advisable to pack lunches in small sealed containers. We regret that we do not have the facilities to reheat meals however should your child require a hot lunch a thermos food flask will keep food warm until lunchtime. Please let us know if your child's lunch includes one of these and we will ensure it is not placed in the fridge. Any uneaten food will be sent home with your child so that you are aware of how much your child has consumed. Please ensure that your child has a healthy and balanced lunch. Breakfast Club and Penguins ClubIf your child attends either Breakfast or Penguins Club, they will be provided with a variety of healthy food options. At Breakfast Club, children are offered different cereals and toast options. At Penguins Club, children are provided with a healthy 'tea', which consists of items such as crumpets, pitta, crackers, soup, spaghetti hoops, cheese, along with fresh fruit and vegetables.
Please note that the nursery is an egg, sesame and nut free zone |
